Russia Develops 'Fake Drone' to Confuse Ukrainian Forces
Russia has developed "fake drones (unmanned aerial vehicles)" to distract Ukrainian forces, TASS news agency reported.
According to the agency, Dmitry Kuzakin, Secretary General of Russia's "Integrated Unmanned Solutions Special Center," announced the development of a disguised drone called "Rodir," which plays a role in disrupting enemy electronic reconnaissance systems.
Rodir means "slacker" in Russian.
Kuzakin explained that Rodir is difficult to distinguish from FPV (First Person View) drones, so it can confuse the enemy while FPV drones carry out combat operations.
FPV drones are operated by pilots wearing goggles who view the scenes captured by cameras mounted on the drones to conduct missions.
Kuzakin said, "Ensuring the safety of combat FPV drones is the main mission of the Integrated Unmanned Solutions Special Center," adding, "We are already developing new electronic intelligence (ELINT) tools at the strategic level to confuse the enemy."

Since the special military operation in Ukraine began in February last year, drones have been used as a major offensive tool by both sides on the battlefield, destroying armored vehicles through airstrikes and more.
