Police Send Singer Lee Sun-hee on Charges of Breach of Trust... Personal Use of Corporate Card
The police have sent singer Lee Sun-hee (59) and Kwon Jin-young, CEO of Lee's agency Hook Entertainment, to the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office without detention on the 19th on charges of embezzling company funds.
According to the police, Lee is accused of causing damage to the company by using the corporate card of One Entertainment for personal purposes from 2011 until June of last year (breach of trust). One Entertainment was liquidated in June of last year after Lee had served as its CEO since 2013. Lee denied the charges during the police investigation in May.
CEO Kwon is accused of embezzling approximately 4 billion won from Hook Entertainment's funds from 2012 until October of last year (embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes).
The police expanded the investigation to include Lee's breach of trust while verifying Kwon's embezzlement suspicions. Kwon was once listed as a director of One Entertainment.

The police applied for an arrest warrant for CEO Kwon last month, but it was dismissed by the court. At that time, the court judged that "it is difficult to consider that there is a risk of evidence destruction or flight."
