‘Jindo Toyo Folk Travel’ Special Performance with Song Ga-in for Chuseok

Various Performances Including Cheongaegijum (Cheongung), Jindobuknori, and Hwabad Planned

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, will hold the Jindo Saturday Folk Travel performance with the theme of ‘Gahyang’ at 2 p.m. on the 30th at the Jindo Local Culture Center Grand Theater.

According to the county on the 19th, this performance will present a variety of shows including the comprehensive creative music performance ‘Cheonjigaemun (Cheongung)’, ‘Jindo Buknori’, and the special Chuseok holiday performance ‘Hwabad’.

In particular, ‘Hwabad’ will feature singer Song Ga-in, who is from our county, and is expected to create a performance that interacts with the audience as a way to respond to the hometown visitors and local residents, providing both fun and emotion.

Jindo Saturday Folk Travel started its first performance in April 1997 and has held a total of 986 performances with over 391,000 spectators to date.

In 2018, it was selected as a ‘Star of Korean Tourism’ by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, establishing itself as a representative traditional performance program of Korea.

County Governor Kim Hee-su said, “Jindo Saturday Folk Travel plays a significant role as an ambassador promoting Jindo-gun, the only folk culture and arts special zone in Korea,” and added, “We hope that hometown visitors and tourists who visit Jindo during Chuseok will feel the unique charm and excitement of Treasure Island Jindo.”
