Visiting the Cemetery Together... "Pooling Capabilities to Strengthen National Security"
Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Ocean, defense business affiliates of Hanwha Group, announced on the 19th that their executives and employees jointly paid tribute to commemorate the 75th anniversary of 'Armed Forces Day' this year.
On the 18th, about 90 executives and employees, including Son Jae-il, CEO of Hanwha Aerospace, and Lee Yong-wook, Head of the Special Ship Division at Hanwha Ocean, visited the National Seoul Memorial Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, to pay respects to the patriotic martyrs and conducted grave site cleanup activities.
This was the first time Hanwha Ocean employees participated in a joint memorial visit to the cemetery since the company was incorporated into Hanwha Group in May this year. Following their joint participation in domestic and international exhibitions, they also took part together in the grave site visit. Hanwha Group's defense affiliates have been conducting annual memorial visits and grave site volunteer activities since establishing a sisterhood relationship with the National Seoul Memorial Cemetery in 2011.

It is the resting place of distinguished contributors who devoted themselves to the country and their comrades, including the late Major Kang Jae-gu, who saved his unit members' lives by throwing himself onto a grenade accidentally dropped by a soldier during training before deployment to the Vietnam War.
Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Ocean stated, “Following the spirit of the patriotic martyrs who dedicated themselves to protecting the homeland, both companies, as leading defense enterprises in the Republic of Korea, will unite their capabilities and devote efforts to safeguarding national security.”
