Arrest Warrant Issued for Woman in Her 40s Who Helped Yoo Ah-in's Acquaintance Flee Abroad... Charged with Harboring a Fugitive
The police have applied for an arrest warrant for the CEO of a fashion brand who assisted an acquaintance of actor Yoo Ah-in (real name Eom Hong-sik) in fleeing overseas in connection with Yoo's drug use case.
On the 18th, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they had applied to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office for a pre-arrest warrant for a woman in her 40s, Park Mo, on charges of aiding a criminal's escape, destroying evidence, and violating the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic substances).
Park is suspected of remitting 13 million won in three installments from the day YouTuber Yang Mo fled overseas in April until the end of the month. Yang is reported to have used the funds to purchase plane tickets for departure and cover expenses needed for staying abroad. Additionally, Park is under investigation for deleting evidence such as text messages with suspects stored on her mobile phone and illegally purchasing zolpidem under another person's name.
Although Park refused to unlock her mobile phone despite the court issuing a seizure warrant in early May, the police technically unlocked the phone and secured materials related to the charges. The police shared this information with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, which is handling Yoo's case.
