'False Sick Leave Allegation' Police Officer Cleared of Charges
An active-duty police officer who was investigated on suspicion of taking false sick leave has been cleared of charges.
On the 18th, Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station announced that Sergeant A, affiliated with the Northern Police Station and accused of forging electronic records, was found not guilty.
Sergeant A was investigated by the police following an internal inspection for allegedly submitting false applications for sick leave and family care leave 30 times from October 2021 to December last year.
During the investigation, the police determined that Sergeant A submitted all supporting documents, and therefore, no criminal charges were established.

However, the police notified the responsible police station of the investigation results, judging that the failure to submit supporting documents at the leave application stage could be considered a violation of guidelines.
