Results of National Mokpo University Early Admission, Ranked No.1 Among 4-Year Comprehensive Universities in Jeonnam
3.9 to 1 Competition Rate with 5,908 Applicants for 1,516 Positions
National Mokpo University (President Song Ha-cheol) announced on the 18th that the 2024 academic year early admission application period held from the 11th to the 15th received 5,908 applicants for 1,516 recruitment spots, resulting in a competition rate of 3.9 to 1, the highest among four-year comprehensive universities in the Jeonnam region.
Looking at the application status by major screening types, △ General Academic Screening recruited 859 students with 3,212 applicants (3.74:1) △ Regional Talent Screening (Academic) recruited 102 students with 631 applicants (6.19:1) △ Comprehensive General Screening recruited 257 students with 1,004 applicants (3.91:1) △ Regional Talent Screening (Comprehensive) recruited 112 students with 618 applicants (5.52:1).
The highest competition rate by recruitment unit was in the Student Record Comprehensive Regional Talent Screening, where the Department of Pharmacy recruited 4 students and received 131 applicants, recording the highest competition rate of 32.75 to 1.
President Song Ha-cheol of Mokpo University stated, “Despite unfavorable external conditions such as the decline in the school-age population, this early admission result reflects the university’s innovation achieved through a demand-centered academic structure reform, as well as the university’s will to grow with the region as a student welfare-enhancing and culture and arts-centered university.” He added, “We will continue to strive to grow as a university representing the region and advancing globally.”
