Jindo-gun 'Citizen Award' Nominee Recommendations and Applications

Education, Tourism, Welfare, and 2 Other Sectors... Applications Accepted Until the 4th of Next Month

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Hee-su) is accepting nominations for candidates for the Citizen Award who have brought honor to the region.

According to the county on the 18th, in celebration of the 48th Jindo Citizen's Day to be held on November 1, nomination forms for the ‘Jindo Citizen Award’ will be accepted until December 4.

The award targets individuals or organizations who, through dedicated volunteer spirit, have contributed to community development and welfare enhancement, becoming role models for the citizens.

This year’s Citizen Award will be selected in five categories: △ Public Welfare △ Education & Sports △ Tourism & Culture & Arts △ Welfare & Environment △ Regional Development, with one recipient chosen per category.

The winners will be finalized through a strict selection process next month by convening the ‘Citizen Award Deliberation Committee’ and will be presented at the ceremony commemorating the ‘48th Jindo Citizen's Day’.

Nominators for the Citizen Award are heads of towns and townships, as well as heads of institutions and organizations; individuals may also nominate candidates with the signatures of 30 or more supporters.

Nomination documents can be received at the town or township offices or downloaded from the announcement section on the Jindo County Office website, and completed documents should be submitted to the General Affairs Team of the Jindo County General Affairs Division.

A representative from the Jindo County General Affairs Division stated, “We ask for active participation and interest from all citizens so that many individuals and organizations who have contributed to community development and citizen harmony and can serve as role models will be nominated.”

Meanwhile, the Jindo Citizen Award is given to those who have enhanced the county’s honor or devoted themselves to regional development and volunteer service. To date, a total of 29 people have received the award, including last year’s recipient, Heo Jeong-mu, chairman of Daejeon Citizen, and the independence activist the late Park Jong-hyeop.
