Professor Im Seok-won of Pukyong National University Elected President of the Korean Society of Maritime Police Science
Professor Im Seok-won of the Department of Marine Production System Management at Pukyong National University has been elected as the 7th president of the Korean Society of Maritime Police Studies.
Professor Im was elected as the president of the Korean Society of Maritime Police Studies at the 2023 Joint Autumn Academic Conference of the Korean Society of Maritime Police Studies and the Korea Maritime Police Academy held on the 8th at the Korea Maritime Police Academy. His term will begin in September and last for two years.

In 2019, Professor Im received the academic award from the society for his contributions to the development of the Korean Society of Maritime Police Studies and was also awarded a commendation from the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries the same year. He is active as an expert in maritime law, maritime accident handling, criminal law, criminal procedure law, constitutional law, and civil law.
