KT&G announced on the 18th that it will hold various events in Korea and Indonesia until December to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Indonesia.
First, the joint exhibition (COLORS OF THE WIND) held at KT&G Sangsangmadang Hongdae in Seoul was open until the 14th. The exhibition, featuring a total of about 70 works by 10 emerging artists from both countries, attracted around 1,600 visitors. Some of the works can be viewed at the KT&G Sangsangmadang Daechi Gallery until the 27th of next month.
In Indonesia, the 'Sangsang Startup School' will be held this month to discover and support startup ideas from local university students. Selected students through the contest will be provided with support programs such as benchmarking Korean startups and incubating.
At the 'KT&G Korean Language Institute,' which opened locally in 2014, a 'Korean Culture Festival' consisting of cultural experiences and performances will be held next month. 'Sangsang Univ Indonesia,' which has been providing programs related to culture, arts, employment, and startups for local university students, also plans to hold 'Sangsang Festa' to introduce Korean cultural content.
Indonesia has a population of about 280 million, ranking 4th in the world. It is also evaluated as a country with unlimited development potential, possessing the 15th largest territory in the world by area (about 1.9 million km²) and various natural resources. KT&G has continued cultural exchange and social contribution activities with Indonesia for over 10 years since starting medical volunteer work in 2012.
