Hapcheon-gun, Hwangmaesan Hwangma Garden ... Wins Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award for Landscaping Excellence
Selected Through Online National Participation Evaluation
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 15th that the Hwangmae Garden in Hwangmaesan, Hapcheon received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the ‘023 13th Korea Landscape Awards’ ceremony held at the 111CM complex cultural space in Suwon City.
This award ceremony is a contest hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korean Society of Landscape Architecture, selected through document evaluation, on-site inspection, and online public participation evaluation.
Hapcheon-gun won the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the 13th Korea Landscape Awards.
View original imageThis year’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award-winning Hwangmae Garden (located within Hwangmaesan County Park) was developed by creating walking trails and grass gardens around the existing landscape resources of Hwangmaesan.
Additionally, the hydrangeas planted around the walking paths provided summer attractions at Hwangmaesan, and the lawn plaza was transformed into a space that can be used for various programs.

County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol said, “Hwangmae Garden is a space where visitors can experience the diverse beauty of Hwangmaesan, which was previously hidden by azaleas and silver grass,” adding, “We will continue to focus on maintenance and management to convey the charm of Hwangmaesan throughout all four seasons to visitors.”
