LG CNS Launches AI Talent Acquisition by Establishing AI Department at Korea University
LG CNS is establishing a recruitment-linked contract department in the graduate program at Korea University to foster convergence talents in data science and artificial intelligence (AI).
On the 13th, LG CNS signed an 'Industry-Academia Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Nurturing Data Science and AI Talents' at the main building of Korea University in Anam-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.

Through the MOU, LG CNS will open a recruitment-linked contract department called the 'AI Data Science Department (tentative name)' at the newly established Graduate School of Convergence Data Science at Korea University by the end of this year. This is the second contract department LG CNS is creating in partnership with a university. In June, LG CNS established a contract department within the Graduate School of Security at Chung-Ang University to train security experts and improve the education and job skills of LG CNS internal employees.
Starting from the 2024 academic year, LG CNS plans to select more than 20 graduate students annually to secure talents specialized in data and AI. The curriculum design and class operations of the new department will be handled by elite experts, including professors from Korea University's Data Science Institute and LG CNS's data analysis and AI research and professional committees. The goal is to cultivate practical talents who can be immediately deployed in the field without additional job training after graduation. LG CNS and Korea University will jointly develop the curriculum. Enrolled students will receive full tuition coverage and a certain amount of living support, and employment at LG CNS will be guaranteed upon obtaining a master's degree.
LG CNS will also strengthen the 'recruitment-linked internship' program for Korea University graduates and master's students. The recruitment areas, which were previously focused on software, will be further expanded. Internship participants will belong to LG CNS's operational departments for about seven weeks, receiving job-tailored training from experienced professionals and building practical skills.
Furthermore, research cooperation in the data science and AI fields will be expanded. Based on LG CNS's research and development (R&D) capabilities and Korea University's research infrastructure and achievements, joint industry-academia cooperation projects will be discovered and promoted.
