Promoting Establishment of Local Office to Support Expansion into Eastern Europe
Hyundai Engineering & Construction is accelerating its entry into the Eastern European nuclear power, new energy, and infrastructure sectors by establishing cooperative networks with local institutions and companies in Poland.
On the 12th (local time), Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced on the 14th that it signed a "Business Agreement for New Nuclear Power Projects" with the Polish Construction Association in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.

Through this agreement, both parties plan to actively explore cooperation measures for discovering new nuclear power projects by exchanging information on Polish construction-related policies, industry trends, local data, and specialized technologies.
On the same day, Hyundai Engineering & Construction also signed a "Business Agreement on Nuclear Power Research & Development (R&D) and Research Reactor Cooperation" with the Polish Nuclear Research Institute. Both parties agreed to establish a comprehensive cooperation system covering ▲nuclear R&D ▲research reactors ▲nuclear safety ▲nuclear technology and personnel exchanges.
Additionally, Hyundai Engineering & Construction signed business agreements on cooperation in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors with leading local construction companies ERBUD and UNIBEP, planning to maintain close collaboration in new airports, urban infrastructure, and smart city projects.
To this end, Hyundai Engineering & Construction is promoting the establishment of a local office to lay the foundation for its entry into Eastern Europe through key partnerships with Poland.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction is building a management and response system covering all areas of nuclear power, including small modular reactors (SMR), nuclear power plant decommissioning, and temporary storage facilities for spent nuclear fuel, while strengthening strategic cooperation with global nuclear power companies, accelerating its role as a "Total Solution Provider" for nuclear power. In April, it secured an Eastern European SMR entry project together with its U.S. nuclear partner Holtec and subsequently signed a tripartite business agreement with Holtec and domestic public financial institutions under the Korea-U.S. Energy Partnership.

He added, "Hyundai Engineering & Construction has established cooperative systems with key Polish institutions and companies, and based on the strategic partnership between the two governments, we will strengthen private-sector partnerships to achieve tangible results."
