Namhansanseong South Gate Parking Lot Closed Until End of December... Maintenance Work
The Gyeonggi-do Namhansanseong World Heritage Center will close the Nammun Parking Lot for about four months from September 18 to the end of December for repair work.
Currently, the Nammun Parking Lot is paved with grass blocks, which have led to grass withering and block damage, exposing parking lot users to safety accidents.
Through this construction, the Heritage Center will replace the floor with permeable concrete, an eco-friendly paving material, to enhance convenience for visitors, and will demolish the old outdoor stage and temporary containers that damage the landscape of Namhansanseong.
Additionally, the repair work of the Nammun Parking Lot will be carried out in conjunction with civil engineering and landscaping work at the entrance plaza for the construction of the 'Namhansanseong History and Culture Center' (tentative name), scheduled for the second half of this year.
Kim Cheongwang, director of the Namhansanseong World Heritage Center, explained, "Due to the repair work of the Nammun Parking Lot linked to the new Namhansanseong History and Culture Center, which will be completed in the second half of this year, the use of the Nammun Parking Lot will inevitably be restricted during the busy autumn season when many visitors come."
