Gangnam Station Murder Threat and Illegal Filming of Sexual Activity... 30s Male Admits Charges in First Trial
A man in his 30s, who was indicted for posting a murder threat on an online community, admitted all charges at his first trial on the 13th.
According to the Criminal Division 6 of Changwon District Court in Gyeongnam, Mr. A was brought to court on charges of posting a message on an online community on August 4th, threatening to kill 18 people at a cosmetics store in Gangnam Station, at a residence in Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do.
He posted a photo of the store he designated as the crime scene along with messages such as, “Tomorrow at 2 PM at the Gangnam Station cosmetics store, I’m going to a shotgun party, no knife stabbing,” and “I’m going to shoot the police too.”
Separately, he was also indicted on charges of illegally filming and possessing footage of sexual acts with women 33 times.

Since the women filmed in the videos were not identified, charges related to prostitution were not applied.
Mr. A stated that he admits to all charges including threats and violations of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, but argued that there was a legal misunderstanding regarding the mass shooting post because the victims were not identified.
