Suncheon-si Recruiting Participants for the 'National Food Competition'

Recruitment of Participants Until the 22nd, On-site Competition on October 7

Open to All, Grand Prize Awarded by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism

Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that it is recruiting participants for the "8th Suncheon Taste National Food Competition" until the 22nd.

This nationwide event aims to discover local dishes using specialty ingredients from the Suncheon region and to promote the development of gourmet tourism products.

After the first document screening, 20 teams will be selected, and during the Food and Art Festival, a representative festival of Suncheon, on the 7th of next month, an on-site competition will be held to award prizes including the Grand Prize, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award (with a prize of 1.5 million KRW).

Anyone interested in cooking, both domestic and foreign nationals, can participate nationwide. Application forms and recipes can be downloaded from the Suncheon City Hall website, and completed documents must be submitted to the Suncheon City Agricultural and Food Distribution Division by visiting in person, mail, or email by the 22nd.

Shin Soon-ok, head of the Agricultural and Food Distribution Division of Suncheon City, said, "Through this competition, we will do our best to promote the excellence of local agricultural specialties externally and to discover and promote representative local dishes."
