Chilgok County Council Member Lee Chang-hoon Leaves Democratic Party... "Will Work Beyond Party Lines"
Chilgok County Council member Lee Chang-hoon announced on the 13th that he has left the Democratic Party of Korea, to which he belonged.
Lee said, "I have worked with conviction beyond party lines and regions until now," and added, "I decided to leave the party to carry out rational and balanced council activities for the development of Chilgok County and the improvement of residents' quality of life."
He stated, "As a county council member, it is a more important mission to find ways to serve the residents rather than having political views as a ruling or opposition party," and "I will focus all my efforts on promptly handling residents' long-standing projects and campaign promises."
Lee worked at a large corporation before returning to his hometown in 2014, where he actively contributed to regional development, including serving as the president of the Chilgok County 4H Association. Since his election in 2018, he has strengthened communication with residents and focused on acquiring knowledge and legal studies related to living SOC to enhance his expertise.
In particular, he has shown great interest in improving the educational environment and managing aging apartment complexes, and pledged to build an indoor swimming pool. He played a leading role in the construction of the Gukmin Sports Center in Buksam-eup.

With Lee's departure from the Democratic Party, Chilgok County Council now consists of 8 members from the People Power Party, 1 from the Democratic Party, and 1 independent out of a total of 10 members.
