After finishing the Masters in April, Woods underwent surgery to treat inflammation in the right ankle fibula. The inflammation is known to be a sequela of a complex fracture sustained in a traffic accident in February 2021. Since the surgery, he has not participated in any tournaments. Although his outings have been occasionally spotted, this is the first time he has been seen swinging a golf club. Woods miraculously recovered from the 2021 traffic accident that nearly cost him his life, but he continues to suffer from various injuries.
