Daehong Planning announced on the 13th that it has launched the virtual tourism metaverse platform 'MetaLive,' developed in collaboration with metaverse specialist company Awesomepia.

MetaLive goes beyond virtual travel that allows users to enjoy real tourist sites in the metaverse by positioning itself as a digital guide providing real-time travel information and itineraries. In particular, for the Jeju region, it offers live and 360-degree videos of over 200 famous tourist spots such as Baengnokdam, Seongsan Ilchulbong, and Hyeopjae Beach, attracting attention. In Jeju, where weather conditions are highly variable, users can search for locations to check real-time weather and wave conditions not only for sightseeing but also for outdoor activities like hiking and surfing, and incorporate this information into their schedules.
The virtual world tab, implemented based on actual footage, is designed to provide a vivid sense of presence at travel destinations. When 360-degree videos of tourist sites filmed with Awesomepia’s digital telescope BORA are used as the virtual world background, users can enjoy the scenery and sounds as if they were real. Along with this, various travel information and personalized travel route recommendation features are provided, allowing users to easily organize their travel courses. Additionally, by utilizing the feed function, users can share photos, videos, and travel experiences with each other, enabling them to check diverse information and reviews before visiting destinations.
Previously, Daehong Planning made a strategic investment last year in Awesomepia, which holds patents related to the metaverse and proprietary XR (Extended Reality) telescope technology (BORA), and has been developing MetaLive as a digital tourism content service platform. Daehong Planning is fully responsible for branding, promotion, and advertising product planning for MetaLive, while Awesomepia handles platform development and operation.
