Gyeongho Kim, Gwangjin-gu Mayor, Conducts Joint Night Patrol to Ensure Residents' Safety
On the 11th, District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho conducted a night patrol with representatives of Jayang 2-dong residents to resolve inconveniences... Checked security light status, women's safe return path lighting, and safety risk factors in the local housing association project area
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, conducted a 'Joint Night Patrol with Residents' in Jayang 2-dong on the 11th.
Since April, the district has been patrolling key locations at night with resident representatives from each neighborhood to identify and resolve inconveniences that are difficult to detect during the day.
At 7 p.m., 12 resident representatives belonging to the Jayang 2-dong Tongjang Association, Mayor Kim Kyung-ho, and staff from the neighborhood community center gathered in front of the Jayang 2-dong Community Center.
They patrolled along Jayang Riverside Road, around Seongja Elementary School, the Jayang 5 Redevelopment Promotion Zone, the local housing cooperative project area, and the vicinity of Yangnam Elementary School. They focused on checking ▲ the lighting status of security lights ▲ the proper operation of safety lighting for women’s safe return paths ▲ safety hazards in the local housing cooperative project area, while also removing illegal advertisements on school routes and maintaining the environment of side streets.
In particular, the area around Jayang Riverside Road was inconvenient for passage due to weeds growing on the sidewalks. Mayor Kim took immediate action on-site and decided to proceed with additional weed maintenance through the relevant departments.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “I thank the residents who stayed late to help create a clean and safe neighborhood,” and added, “We will continue to communicate steadily with residents to make Gwangjin-gu a better place to live.”

Meanwhile, the district has conducted night patrols in Junggok-dong, Guui-dong, Neung-dong, and Jayang 1-dong, promptly addressing resident inconveniences such as installing new security lights and pruning trees. Joint patrols with residents will continue in the remaining five neighborhoods until November.
