Kyobo Bookstore announced on the 12th that it will hold a late-night bookstore event called "Night of Reading Together" at the Kyobo Bookstore Gwanghwamun Branch on the 15th and the Jamsil Branch on the 22nd to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founder's passing. The Gwanghwamun Branch will operate from 6:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and the Jamsil Branch until 10:00 PM.
At the sunken plaza of the Gwanghwamun Branch on the 15th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, there will be a "Night of Reading Poetry" event with poets Hwang In-chan and Oh Eun. Following that, from 7:20 PM to 10:00 PM, attendees will watch "Life of Pi" with film critic Yoon Sung-eun and discuss the original novel "The Life of Pi." From 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM, there will be a book talk by author Lim Kyung-sun titled "Murakami Haruki Novels for Us." This event will also be held at the Jamsil Branch on the 22nd from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The content can be listened to via wireless headsets inside the bookstore. Additionally, during the late-night bookstore hours, visitors can listen to music that offers a glimpse into Murakami Haruki's record collection through wireless headsets.
Various other events have also been prepared. If participants upload the late-night bookstore event on their SNS, they will receive Jeju Beer’s non-alcoholic beer and Nongshim snacks. Those who record and upload a sentence they want to keep in their hearts on SNS will receive a handwriting kit produced in collaboration with Monami. From the 15th to December 23rd, a 100-day reading challenge will be held, and participants who meet the achievement conditions will be entered into a prize draw. Participants can create a reading list and complete the challenge on the Kyobo Bookstore website.
