Generally, since the certification items include not only construction but also IoT (Internet of Things) scalability and security, collaboration between construction companies and IT firms was necessary. However, GS Construction is the only company to have received simultaneous certification using an app developed in-house by the construction company.
The ultra-high-speed information communication and home network certifications are systems obtained for each building to conveniently use various information communication services. They are certified by the Korea Association for ICT Promotion (KAIT) based on standards set by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Central Radio Management Office. To simultaneously satisfy the highest grades, special grade and AAA grade, more than 100 criteria must be met, including ▲wiring facilities ▲device installation ▲piping and other facilities ▲IoT scalability. According to the certification homepage of the Korea Association for ICT Promotion, there are currently only nine complexes in Korea that have received the highest grades simultaneously.
GS Construction secured the certification by utilizing its self-developed smart home application, ‘GS SPACE.’ This proved that the construction company can provide smart home services to residents solely with its own capabilities.
GS Construction’s dedicated department, the Log House Group, also released version 2.0 of the self-developed smartphone app ‘GS SPACE.’ Next year, it plans to improve and launch it as an integrated app covering life within the complex.
