Mayor Kim Gyeonghui Completes 36 out of 108 Promises
On the 11th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it recently held a regular meeting of the Pledge Implementation Evaluation Group in the city hall's main conference room to review the status of pledge implementation during the first year of the 8th local government administration.
The Pledge Implementation Evaluation Group was formed to enable residents to directly monitor the progress of pledge projects under the 8th local government administration and to realize participatory governance. The evaluation group, consisting of 30 members selected through public recruitment and recommendations last May, conducts an annual regular evaluation to check the appropriateness of pledge implementation and proposes areas where citizen feedback and adjustments are needed.

Key completed projects include ▲the opening of the youth job cafe 'e-room,' ▲expansion of childbirth congratulatory payments, ▲nighttime pediatric and adolescent medical services at Icheon Hospital, ▲installation of safety CCTVs and emergency bells on school routes, and ▲increased support funds for community sports.
The city additionally noted that one of the major pledges, the integration of the CCTV system and the introduction of AI technology, has recently been recognized for achievements such as crime detection and saving citizens' lives. This led to winning an excellence award at the nationwide basic local government manifesto best practice competition hosted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters in July.
