Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Guarantees Broad Choice for Field Trips Below Elementary School Level
Support Within Legal Limits for Accidents Involving Regular Jeonse Bus Use
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education has decided to provide support for civil and criminal liabilities and to make payments on behalf within the scope of legal compensation even in cases where accidents occur while using regular charter buses for field trips at the elementary school level or below.
This measure was taken to prevent confusion at frontline schools following the Ministry of Government Legislation's authoritative interpretation that "buses registered as children's school transportation vehicles must be used for field trips at the elementary school level or below."
The Gwangju Office of Education plans to join other city and provincial education offices in demanding a prompt revision of the Road Traffic Act.
