County Governor Kim San Addresses Residents' Concerns Over Nuclear Wastewater Discharge
On the 9th, Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) held a seafood consumption promotion campaign at the traditional market in Muan-eup to promote the safety of seafood and stimulate consumption.
According to the county on the 11th, this campaign was conducted to alleviate residents' concerns caused by the discharge of nuclear power plant water and to revitalize seafood consumption amid the decline in seafood demand.

During the campaign, Governor Kim San promoted the safety of Muan County's seafood and encouraged consumption, listened to the difficulties faced by local fishermen, and conveyed words of encouragement to overcome the challenging situation.
He also urged people to gift local seafood during the Chuseok holiday to minimize the damage to fishermen.
Na Jae-cheol, Director of the Marine and Fisheries Department, stated, “We will actively promote campaigns and direct sales events to boost the consumption of local seafood,” and emphasized, “We will focus on cracking down on false labeling and non-disclosure of seafood origin in preparation for the Chuseok holiday to ensure safe seafood food.”
