"50-Year-Old Son Refuses to Accept Father's Death, Carries Corpse in Car"
"Rotten Smell from Parked Car" Report
Father's Death Not Acknowledged, Statements Refused
The police are investigating after it was revealed that a man in his 50s concealed the body of his deceased father in his 90s inside a vehicle.
According to the Suwon Nambu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province on the 11th, at around 8:35 PM the previous day, a parking attendant at the Suwon Youth Culture Center parking lot in Paldal-gu, Suwon City, reported to the police that "there is a rotten smell coming from a car."
Police who arrived at the scene found the suspected Equus vehicle and a man in his 50s, Mr. A, the owner of a nearby vehicle. Upon searching the car, a corpse wrapped in clothes was discovered in the back seat. The body was already in an advanced state of decomposition.
The deceased was identified as Mr. B, a man in his 90s and the father of Mr. A.
According to the police investigation, Mr. A had been traveling around the country with his deceased father in the car recently without a fixed residence. When his father passed away during this time, he kept the body inside the car without going through funeral procedures.
The bereaved family reportedly stated during the police investigation that Mr. A was a devoted son.
Currently, Mr. A is refusing to acknowledge his father's death and is withholding statements.
Based on the state of decomposition of the body and the family's testimony that they had spoken with Mr. B "even ten days ago," the police estimate that Mr. B died several days ago, and so far, no signs of foul play have been found.
The police plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the cause of Mr. B's death.
