Suwon City Conducts Emergency Safety Inspections of Large Stores Ahead of Chuseok
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will conduct safety management inspections and check for resident inconveniences at large-scale stores until the 15th of this month ahead of Chuseok.
On the 11th, Suwon announced that it will carry out on-site inspections at 9 out of 27 large-scale stores in the area, including Homeplus Dong Suwon Branch, AK Plaza Suwon Branch, and Suwon General Tool Complex.
The main inspection items include ▲Safety and maintenance (whether facility safety and maintenance plans are established and implemented) ▲Architecture (presence of cracks or peeling on rooftops and exterior walls) ▲Fire safety (availability of fire extinguishers, condition of fire hydrants and sprinklers, presence of obstructions) ▲Electricity (whether regular safety inspections have been conducted) ▲Gas (installation and proper operation of gas leak detectors) ▲Resident inconveniences (actions taken on complaints continuously received through the National Petition System and daily life inconveniences).
Suwon City plans to notify business operators and others of any issues identified during the inspections.

A Suwon city official stated, "Large-scale stores that many people visit during the Chuseok holiday can cause major accidents if safety management is neglected. We will continuously conduct safety inspections and carefully check compliance with related regulations to do our best to prevent safety accidents."
