Gwanak S-Valley Hosts 'Gwanak S-yndrome' Event

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) will hold 'Gwanak S-yndrome' from September 13 to September 14 to expand the startup ecosystem and support corporate growth.
'Gwanak S-yndrome' will be held over two days at Sammo Art Center (35 Sinwon-ro, Gwanak-gu) under the theme "Presenting the Future of Startups in Korea," targeting about 100 participants including Gwanak S-Valley entrepreneurs and related institution officials.
The main events include ▲‘S-Tone Forum’ for startup companies ▲‘Gwanak S-Rising Day,’ a demo day (presentation) for startups and venture companies ▲AI technology demonstrations and metaverse live broadcasts.
First, on the 13th, the district will hold the ‘S-Tone Forum’ under the theme "The Future of Startups in Korea."
Ha Jung-woo, head of Naver Cloud AI Innovation Center, and Han Sang-gi, CEO of Tech Frontier, recognized as domestic AI experts, will deliver valuable lectures presenting directions that startup companies should focus on in AI, ART, and cultural content fields.
Side events on the day include ▲an AI robot conducting the National Gugak Orchestra ▲an art class viewing with AI ▲an AI hair loss medical diagnosis service booth experience, offering various interesting programs related to artificial intelligence.
On the 14th, the district will hold ‘Gwanak S-Rising Day,’ where 10 startups pre-selected through document screening will present a special IR (corporate introduction) contest expressing their identity through four words symbolizing their companies, expected to attract the attention of the live audience.
The district hopes this event will be an opportunity for startups growing in Gwanak-gu to be recognized by many investors.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, "I hope this ‘Gwanak S-yndrome’ event will be a turning point for spreading startup culture," and added, "We will continue to prepare and promote various development plans so that Gwanak S-Valley can become a leading venture startup hub in Korea."

Meanwhile, since 2018, Gwanak-gu has been focusing on the ‘Gwanak S-Valley’ project to create a startup ecosystem where universities, companies, and the local community coexist in areas including Nakseong Venture Valley (Nakseongdae-dong), Sillim Startup Valley (Seorim-dong and Daehak-dong), and Seoul National University. Notably, in January last year, it achieved the distinction of being designated as a 'Venture Business Promotion District' by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
