Jeju Fire Department Holds Future Development Workshop
A gathering was held where various current and former firefighters, volunteer firefighters, and officials from the Fire Facilities Association came together by rank, job, and generation to explore the future development direction of Jeju firefighting.
The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 10th that it held the 'Jeju Firefighting Future Development Workshop' at Jeju Nottinghill Convention on the 8th.
At the workshop, in addition to current firefighters, members representing former firefighters from the Firefighters' Alumni Association, volunteer firefighters, and officials from the Fire Facilities Association participated to engage in active discussions on various policies and current issues under the themes of ▲Advancement plans for Jeju firefighting ▲Future design methods based on past and present analysis.
Additionally, Professor Nam Byosu from Dong-Eui University gave a special lecture titled 'Development Plans for Jeju Firefighters' Alumni Association,' focusing on ways to efficiently respond to the changing firefighting environment based on coexistence and cooperation between current and former firefighters.
In particular, based on a thorough analysis of the changes in disaster patterns and the role of firefighting from past to present, current and former firefighters put their heads together to jointly discover sustainable growth plans, laying the foundation for the future strategic vision of firefighting.
Im Seung-gyu, president of the Jeju Firefighters' Alumni Association, said, “To design firefighting strategies that respond to unpredictable future environments, we will unite the capabilities of the Firefighters' Alumni Association and strengthen efforts for the development of Jeju firefighting based on continuous cooperation.”
Kim Su-hwan, head of the headquarters, said, “The past and present are essential stepping stones to leap into the future,” adding, “We will lead future innovation in Jeju firefighting through policy development incorporating the know-how of former firefighters and build a solid firefighting infrastructure for Jeju.”
