President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife attended the G20 Summit gala dinner hosted by the chair country India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the evening of the 9th (local time), where they held their third conversation with U.S. President Joe Biden.
President Yoon attended the gala dinner, which lasted about 1 hour and 15 minutes on the 3rd floor of Bharat Mandapam, the summit venue, where he built friendships and strengthened the foundation of friendship and cooperation with key partners including President Biden, the presidential office spokesperson Lee Do-woon said in a written briefing on the 10th. In Bharat Mandapam, "Bharat" is the name India uses domestically for the country, and "Mandapam" means exhibition hall.

President Yoon and President Biden had two conversations that day, moving between the G20 Summit leaders’ lounge and the bilateral meeting room. President Yoon said to President Biden, "Thank you for the hospitality at Camp David last month," adding, "We have been discussing on various occasions that trilateral cooperation among Korea, the U.S., and Japan will contribute to global freedom, peace, and prosperity." In response, President Biden said, "I also appreciate it," and added, "The last Camp David meeting was very successful, and especially it was rewarding that the three leaders had ample time to interact closely and talk in a space where we could speak frankly."
Also, President Yoon and First Lady Kim Keon-hee sat close to India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Before the dinner started, they naturally met and exchanged greetings with various leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron and Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in the dining hall. In particular, they had a warm and friendly conversation for about 20 minutes standing together with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, with whom they have built close ties through various occasions, discussing a wide range of topics from light-hearted well-wishes to regional affairs.

Throughout the dinner, a performing group played beautiful Indian music encompassing both folk and modern styles using traditional instruments from various parts of India. The dinner menu, celebrating the harvest season of autumn, featured dishes made with abundant Indian grains, showcasing the diversity of India’s predominantly vegetarian food culture.
