Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, attended the signing ceremony of the agreement between the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Wielkopolska Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stating, "We will open a new era of cooperation between the chambers of commerce of the two countries."
Wielkopolska is one of the 16 provinces of Poland, with its capital in Pozna?. The signing ceremony held on the 8th at the Wielkopolska Chamber of Commerce and Industry located in Pozna? was attended by about 20 people, including the presidents of both chambers of commerce.
At the ceremony, Mayor Hong emphasized the history of relations between the Republic of Korea and Poland and the importance of expanding economic cooperation in his congratulatory speech, saying, "What is important is the exchange between private companies of the two countries. To support this, it is crucial to establish and support cooperation channels not only between central governments but also between local governments and business communities." He added, "In that sense, I believe that today's signing of the agreement between the Changwon and Wielkopolska Chambers of Commerce and Industry is very meaningful."

Mayor Hong also took the initiative to promote Korean culture to Polish students. He had lunch with Korean language students from Adam Mickiewicz University in Pozna? and later met with the Pozna? K-POP dance student team in the afternoon. The Korean language department at Adam Mickiewicz University, established in 2003, plays an important role as a bridge connecting Korea and Poland.
Speaking about the importance of cultural exchange between the future generations of Korea and Poland, Mayor Hong said, "Korea and Poland share many similarities, such as the pain of history caused by war and rapid economic growth. As economic and defense exchanges between the two countries increase, Korea-Poland relations are becoming stronger. I hope that the close cultural exchange cooperation among the youth of both countries will deepen further, taking the international friendship city agreement between Changwon and Pozna? as an opportunity." He also requested the interest and support of the young generation of Poland for the K-Pop World Festival to be held in Changwon this year.
