The People Power Party launched a presidential election manipulation gate fact-finding team and launched a full-scale offensive regarding the 'Daejang-dong false interview suspicion.' The People Power Party raised suspicions of manipulation interviews involving Kim Man-bae, the major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu, and Shin Hak-rim, former chairman of the Media Union, as well as theories about the possibility of organized involvement by the Democratic Party of Korea.
On the 8th, the People Power Party officially launched the 'Presidential Election Manipulation Gate Fact-Finding Team' and began fact-finding at the party level. Yoon Jae-ok, floor leader of the People Power Party, said, "This presidential election manipulation incident is a serious crime that robs the people's sovereignty, distorts public opinion, denies liberal democracy, and destroys the constitutional order of the Republic of Korea," adding, "If this continues, no election results can be trusted, and trust in democracy will collapse. The People Power Party will definitely clarify the suspicions for the sake of defending democracy."

Yoo Ui-dong, a member of the People Power Party and head of the fact-finding team, said, "It is very distressing that we have to launch a fact-finding team to investigate an unprecedented incident," and defined the case as "a clear election manipulation and serious election crime in which those seeking unfair political and economic benefits illegally exchanged money to manipulate interviews, and spread them through social networking services (SNS) and the media." He described it as "a serious damage to democracy" and expressed his determination, saying, "I firmly believe that we must correct the problem to move forward into the future, and I will proceed thoroughly and fiercely, step by step."
After the first meeting, Yoo told reporters, "Because of some greedy people with impure intentions, responsible persons working on site with a sense of mission have been collectively criticized and placed in a difficult environment," promising, "We will reveal the truth as soon as possible and improve the system."
At the previous floor countermeasure meeting, the People Power Party mentioned theories about the Democratic Party of Korea and its leader Lee Jae-myung being behind the incident. Park Dae-chul, chairman of the People Power Party Policy Committee, said, "(Regarding the interview content) it would be a statement that cannot be easily made without a firm belief," and argued, "No matter how bold a criminal is, it would be unreasonable to carry out a mega manipulation to overturn the presidential election results without political backing."
Lee Cheol-gyu, secretary-general of the People Power Party, pointed out, "It is impossible not to identify former President Moon Jae-in, who was then the senior secretary for civil affairs at the Blue House, as the main culprit in the Busan Savings Bank corruption cover-up case," and mentioned, "It has been confirmed as a fact that Moon Jae-in, then senior secretary for civil affairs, made a phone call asking for leniency to Director Yoo of the Financial Supervisory Service, who was investigating the case at the request of Busan Savings Bank, and it has also been confirmed that the Financial Supervisory Service issued the most lenient sanction of 'institutional warning' despite discovering corruption."

Meanwhile, Jang Ye-chan, a Supreme Council member of the People Power Party who had announced the day before that he would reveal evidence that "Kim Man-bae's presidential election manipulation fake news colluded with Lee Jae-myung's Democratic Party," referred at a press conference in the afternoon to the fact that Democratic Party lawmakers had attempted to amend the Public Official Election Act to prevent loss of their seats over false information publication offenses, claiming, "It can only be seen that Democratic Party lawmakers laid the groundwork by even proposing bills to utilize the manipulated interviews by Kim Man-bae and Shin Hak-rim." The current Public Official Election Act stipulates that "if false information is published with the intent to prevent a specific candidate from being elected, the offender shall be punished by imprisonment of up to seven years or a fine of between 5 million and 30 million won," but Democratic Party lawmakers changed the provision from "between 5 million and 30 million won" to "up to 50 million won," removing the lower limit of the fine to spread fake news freely without fear of losing their seats. He urged, "I hope the 32 lawmakers who participated in the bill proposal clarify for what reason and under whose instructions they proposed the 'presidential election manipulation immunity bill' immediately after the Kim Man-bae-Shin Hak-rim manipulated interview."
