Walking in the Forest with Pets~... The 6th Gangdong Animal Love Festival Held
Various Programs Including Forest Trail Walk from 1:30 PM to 6 PM on the 23rd
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced on the 8th that the "6th Gangdong Animal Love Festival" will be held on the 23rd at 1:30 PM at the grassy plaza of Iljasan Natural Park in Dunchon-dong.
Since its inception in 2016, the festival is now in its 6th year and has established itself as one of Seoul's representative animal festivals. In particular, the district is leading efforts to create a space for communication and harmony between pet owners and non-pet owners through the festival, promoting a desirable pet culture.
This year's event, under the theme "Sharing with Pets!", will feature a walking course of approximately 1.2 km to be walked together with pets. There will also be a dog behavior counseling talk concert (Director Kang Sung-ho), dog waste cleanup, and a walking race, among other dog sports activities.
Additionally, various attractions and enjoyable events will be held, including a demonstration performance by Seoul 119 Special Rescue Dogs, pet shopping, pet health, behavior, and grooming programs, and resident participation booths.
Jung Jin-soo, Director of the Local Economy Division, stated, "All proceeds (experience fees) from the festival will be donated to children in vulnerable groups," and added, "As various programs aimed at fostering a mature pet culture and improving awareness of pets are prepared, we hope for active participation from residents."
