A Professional Instructor on Suicide Prevention and Life Respect Education Visits Schools for Training
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that from September 1 to the end of November, it will operate a 'Life Respect Education' program for students of 10 local elementary, middle, and high schools.
The 'Life Respect Education' was prepared to prevent suicide attempts among students. A professional instructor specializing in 'Suicide Prevention and Life Respect Education' visits schools to teach students how to protect their own mental health and enhance their self-esteem.
First, the characteristics of mental health during adolescence are explained. It also teaches how to recognize signs of depression and suicide risk through the language and behavior of people around them (detecting risk signals) and how to respond. Guidance is also provided on how to seek help from institutions such as health centers and mental health welfare centers.
