Kim Hae-cheol, Chief of Mokpo Coast Guard, Conducts On-site Inspection of Maritime Security in Jurisdiction
Discussion on Safety Inspection of Pyejang Beach and Collaboration for Visiting Island Medical Institutions
Kim Hae-cheol, Chief of the Mokpo Maritime Police Station, has embarked on an on-site inspection of maritime security within the jurisdiction to assess the status of marine safety accident prevention.
According to Mokpo Maritime Police on the 7th, on the 6th, Chief Kim used the coastal rescue boat of the local police substation to inspect maritime security sites around Amtae-myeon, Sinan-gun, and then visited the new construction site of the Bigeum Branch Office (located in Bigeum-myeon, Sinan-gun) to check on the progress of the construction.
The Bigeum Branch Office is scheduled to be completed by the end of September this year. Chief Kim expressed his gratitude to the construction personnel for their hard work and requested that safety be the top priority during the construction process.

He then visited Sinan Daewoo Hospital (Director Choi Myung-seok), a related institution, to discuss cooperation on emergency patient rescue and transport in island areas.
Sinan Daewoo Hospital, located in Bigeum-myeon, Sinan-gun within the jurisdiction of the Mokpo Maritime Police Amtae Substation, has played a leading role in providing medical services to island residents by collaborating with the maritime police to provide emergency treatment and urgent transport of 88 emergency patients to large mainland hospitals over the past three years.
Chief Kim, together with Director Choi Myung-seok of Sinan Daewoo Hospital, discussed measures to resolve medical blind spots, especially considering the high proportion of elderly emergency patients due to the demographic characteristics of the island population, and pledged mutual cooperation among related institutions as protectors of the precious lives of the people.
Meanwhile, after encouraging the staff at the substation and branch office and listening to their suggestions, Chief Kim visited the closed beach (Heart Beach) and nearby vulnerable ports and harbors to check the emergency response readiness and urged them to strengthen focused patrols to proactively prevent coastal accidents.
