LG Electronics Participates in Art Fair 'Frieze Seoul'... Expressing Late Kim Hwan-ki's Works
LG Electronics is participating as the industry's first official headline partner at the global art fair 'Frieze Seoul 2023.'
On the 7th, LG Electronics announced that it will showcase the works of the late Korean abstract art master Kim Whanki in a new way using the innovative technology of LG OLED TV at 'Frieze Seoul 2023.' Frieze is a world-renowned art fair representing contemporary art alongside Art Basel in Switzerland. This exhibition, held over four days until the 9th of this month at COEX in Seoul, features approximately 300 galleries from around the world.

The exhibition features domestic digital artists such as Professor Park Je-sung from Seoul National University, artist An Mano, artist Kim Dae-hwan, and the media art group Birthday, who utilize the extra-large LG OLED TV as a canvas to digitally reinterpret the artworks. Visitors can immerse themselves in Birthday’s media art on the world’s largest 97-inch wireless OLED TV, which emphasizes the sensation of the intense red dots in the original work 'Red Dot Series (14-III-72 #223)' swirling into a circle.

The artists cited LG OLED TV’s technology, which provides image quality close to the original, as a reason for collaboration. Oh Hye-won, Executive Vice President of LG Electronics HE Brand Communication, said, “LG OLED TV will serve as the ultimate ‘digital canvas’ that expands artistic expression, delivering artistic experiences enjoyed in everyday life to more customers.”
