Lee Jong-yeop, Former President of the Korean Bar Association, Appointed as Chairman of the Korea Legal Aid Corporation
On the 6th, the Ministry of Justice appointed Lee Jong-yeop, former president of the Korean Bar Association (age 60, Judicial Research and Training Institute class 18), as the 15th chairman of the Korea Legal Aid Corporation.
The Ministry of Justice announced on the 6th that it has appointed Lee Jong-yeop, former president of the Korean Bar Association, as the 15th chairman of the Korea Legal Aid Corporation. The Ministry of Justice stated, "Based on his diverse experience as president of the Korean Bar Association, president of the Incheon Bar Association, and prosecutor, he is expected to greatly contribute to the development of legal aid services for socially and economically disadvantaged groups."
The newly appointed chairman began his career as a prosecutor at the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office in 1992. He served at the Yeongdeok branch of the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office and the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office before opening his law practice in 1995. He also served as president of the Incheon Bar Association in 2017 and president of the Korean Bar Association in 2021.

The chairman's term is three years. The Korea Legal Aid Corporation was established in 1987 to support socially and economically disadvantaged individuals who cannot receive legal protection due to financial difficulties.
