Gwangju Nam-gu, Munyehoegwan Performance Hall Reopens on the 12th After Renovation Completion
Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is reopening the Cultural and Arts Center auditorium with a newly renovated look after completing functional enhancement construction.
Nam-gu announced on the 6th that the Nam-gu Cultural and Arts Center auditorium, which underwent maintenance due to aging facilities, will reopen from the 12th after approximately 70 days of construction.
The Nam-gu Cultural and Arts Center, opened in 2003 with an area of 1361㎡, houses the auditorium on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building. Over 20 years, the need for maintenance due to facility aging has been consistently raised.
Since July, Nam-gu has invested 623 million KRW in the functional enhancement project and launched a large-scale renovation.
First, to provide convenience to visitors, all aspects including the auditorium seats, heating and cooling facilities, and flooring were replaced.
The existing 402 hard and less sturdy audience seats were completely replaced with 387 seats offering improved cushioning and stability, and the heating and cooling system was changed from a central system to a ceiling-type system that can operate individually.
In particular, because the auditorium is spacious, additional heating and cooling units were installed in areas that previously had none to ensure smooth airflow throughout the indoor space.
