8 out of 10 Foreigners Say They Are Satisfied with Life in Korea
Among foreigners residing in Korea, 8 out of 10 are generally satisfied with their lives.
According to the analysis of 'Life of Foreigners Residing in Korea' released by Statistics Korea on the 6th, foreigners living in Korea showed satisfaction with their lives regardless of gender. The overall satisfaction, combining very satisfied (40.8%) and somewhat satisfied (39.6%), was 80.4%.
The biggest difficulties foreigners face in living in Korea were language problems (43.4%) and loneliness (28.8%). Next, cultural differences such as lifestyle and food (27.8%) were also reported as challenges. However, 32.7% responded that they had no difficulties.

Among foreigners, 19.7% reported experiencing discrimination, with higher awareness of discrimination in places or services such as stores, restaurants, banks, and workplaces. Awareness of discrimination was lower in schools/universities, landlords or real estate agencies, and public institutions.
