Commercialization by Companies in Daejeon 'Daedeok Innopolis New Technology' Area
A plan is being promoted for local companies to commercialize new technologies within the Daejeon Daedeok Innopolis.
On the 6th, Daejeon City announced that it recently selected eight preliminary planning projects to promote the "2023 Daejeon-type Convergence New Industry Creation Special Zone Technology Demonstration Leading Project" (hereinafter referred to as the Daejeon-type Demonstration Leading Project).
This project is being promoted as a type of technology verification activity to reduce uncertainty in the commercialization process of technologies secured through research and development (R&D) and to increase market entry safety.
The core is to provide customized support so that new technologies created through R&D by Daedeok Innopolis research institutes can be transferred to local companies and commercialized stably.
The demonstration will be operated over two years, divided into Phase 1 preliminary planning and Phase 2.
Previously, 56 organizations including local companies, universities, and research institutes formed consortia and submitted a total of 17 projects in nine technology fields for the project call.
Daejeon City selected eight projects for Phase 1 preliminary planning, including early cancer screening diagnostic devices, filter-free multipurpose air purifiers, and ultra-high-level water purification systems.
The eight selected preliminary planning projects will receive support for activities such as technology commercialization company diagnosis, commercialization strategy establishment, close expert mentoring, and capacity-building education for two months as Phase 1 projects to analyze demonstration items and advance technology.
Subsequently, Daejeon City plans to conduct evaluations and on-site inspections of the Phase 1 selected projects to select the final two projects to participate in Phase 2, providing full-scale demonstration and commercialization consulting.
