[IAA 2023] Mobis Enters the Battleground "European Orders to Double This Year"
Hyundai Mobis IAA Mobility 2023 Press Day
Targets Over 30% Annual Average Sales Growth in Europe by 2030
Hyundai Mobis announced an aggressive plan to target the European market at 'IAA Mobility 2023' held in Munich, Germany. The company expects its European orders to more than double this year and set a goal of achieving an average annual sales growth of over 30% by 2030.
On the 4th (local time), Hyundai Mobis introduced its European market strategy under the theme 'Mobis Mobility 2.0' during the press day of 'IAA Mobility 2023.' In the presentation, Hyundai Mobis revealed plans to target the European mobility market with three key solutions: electrification core components such as battery and PE systems, next-generation chassis technology, and connectivity.
Axel Mashka, Vice President of Global Sales at Hyundai Mobis, said, "Our 2026 blueprint involves expanding our global network by adding EV parts factories not only in the U.S. and Europe but also in emerging regions of Asia," adding, "One of these will be located in Europe."
At the exhibition, Hyundai Mobis showcased the battery system (BSA) and PE system (powertrain system) installed in the Kia EV9, as well as the next-generation electrification platform, e-CCPM (Electric Complete Chassis Platform Module). Hyundai Mobis also announced that it is developing an 800V high-voltage battery system and a third-generation PE system suitable for high-performance electric vehicles to strengthen its competitiveness in the electrification business.
Hyundai Mobis’ European market solutions also include next-generation chassis technology and connectivity. The company plans to target the European mobility market with 'X (Everything)-By Wire' and '5G-based V2X (Vehicle to Everything) integrated control' technologies.

'X-By Wire' is a next-generation chassis technology that converts all essential functions such as steering and braking from mechanical to electronic systems. This allows the vehicle design to freely change the positions of the steering wheel or brake pedal. Hyundai Mobis has secured key by-wire solutions including electronic steering (Steer-By-Wire), electronic braking (Brake-By-Wire), and independent rear-wheel steering (Rear Wheel Steering).
Recently, Hyundai Mobis also began developing 5G-based V2X integrated control technology, a core technology for Level 4 autonomous driving. This technology enables vehicles and external environments to exchange large volumes of data in real time. Having already secured 5G communication module technology, Hyundai Mobis plans to soon launch a new telematics product that integrates V2X technology.
The reason Hyundai Mobis emphasizes advanced mobility solutions in the European market is that it is a battleground for high-tech fields. Increasing orders in the European market, where many premium automakers with stringent technology evaluations are concentrated, means gaining recognition for technological differentiation.
