Gyeonggi Health and Environment Research Institute, Specialized Training for Air Sampling Personnel
On the 6th, the Gyeonggi-do Institute of Health and Environment Research will conduct specialized training for personnel involved in sample collection from air quality measurement agencies within the province at the institute's main conference room.
This training is the first of its kind conducted by a local government targeting private testing and inspection agencies that collect air stack samples, focusing intensively on the entire sample collection process and methods to ensure safety.
In particular, this training responds to requests from private companies seeking to improve expertise in sample collection, following a dust collection proficiency evaluation conducted over three months since May for private measurement agencies.
As of this year, there are 19,436 air emission businesses in the province. These businesses must measure air pollution levels on a weekly or monthly basis depending on the type and amount of pollutants and manage their facilities within emission permit standards.
However, with recent heatwaves, ozone alerts, and living odors worsening air quality and restricting outdoor activities for the public, the Gyeonggi-do Institute of Health and Environment Research explains that prompt and accurate sample collection is necessary to set proper directions for air environment policies, improve facilities at air pollution emission businesses, and encourage compliance with legal standards.

He added, "We will continue to promote proficiency improvement in private companies through ongoing education."
