Collection of Furnace Off-Gas and Improvement of Working Environment in Steelworks
Daedong, which declared its entry into the robot industry earlier this year, will develop special environment mission robots within steel mills in cooperation with POSCO. Daedong (co-CEOs Kim Junsik and Won Yuhyun) announced on the 4th that it signed a business agreement with POSCO Process Research Institute (Director Kim Gisu) for the 'Development of Special Environment Mission Robot Platform Technology.' This is to collect fallen steel and improve the working environment within the steel mill.
Based on this agreement, Daedong will collaborate with POSCO to develop mission robots suited to the working environment of steel mills by 2025. First, by 2024, they will create mission robots remotely controlled by remote control and deploy them to POSCO steel mills. These mission robots will replace existing equipment used for removing fallen steel, removing fallen steel and waste within the workplace while collecting big data on the steel mill working environment. Based on this, in 2025, they plan to develop autonomous mission robots with minimal human operation.
