Busan Office of Education Conducts September Mock Test for 2024 College Scholastic Ability Test
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will conduct the '2024 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) September Mock Exam' on the 6th at 125 high schools and 27 designated academies in the Busan area.
This mock exam will be held simultaneously in 17 cities and provinces nationwide. In Busan, a total of 26,077 students will take the test, including 21,141 current students and 4,936 graduates and GED holders.
The mock exam is designed to improve students' adaptability to the format of the 2024 CSAT, which will be held on November 16. The nature of the exam, test areas, and number of questions will be the same as those of the 2024 CSAT.
Additionally, the system from last year's CSAT will be maintained. The first session's Korean language section and the second session's mathematics section will be conducted in a 'common subject + elective subject' structure. After adjusting elective subject scores using the common subject scores, standard scores and grades will be calculated.
In the fourth session, the inquiry section, students can choose up to two subjects regardless of their academic track.
COVID-19 positive individuals can take the exam in the same testing room as general examinees according to the revised detailed quarantine guidelines. However, positive individuals must wear a KF94 (or equivalent) mask and eat lunch in a separate space from other examinees.
Examinees who are COVID-19 positive and unable to attend in person can take the exam through the testing institute's online exam site. After the exam, family members or others can collect the test papers on their behalf at the registration desk, allowing the examinee to take the test at home and submit answers via the online exam site.
The deadline for submitting answers on the online exam site is 9:00 PM on September 7. Once answers are entered and submission is completed, a score report will be provided. The results of this mock exam will be notified to examinees on October 5.
Lee Seong-hwan, Director of Secondary Education at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "This mock exam is the last test conducted like the actual CSAT before the 2024 CSAT is held," and advised, "Students should manage their time as if it were the real exam and use their provisional scoring results to concretize their college entrance study strategies."
