AP Technology Obtains Patent for Increased 2’-FL Productivity and Composition
AP Technology, a company specializing in human milk oligosaccharides (HMO), announced on the 1st that it has obtained a patent for a method to increase the productivity of 2’-FL (2’-Fucosyllactose) and a composition utilizing this method.
The newly acquired patent focuses on increasing the productivity of 2’-FL, detailing the preparation of culture media and cultivation methods through enzyme treatment. This approach is expected to facilitate the supply of raw materials for the newly launched Purity product and contribute to improving product quality.
In addition, the company also secured a patent for a therapeutic composition containing 2’-FL as an active ingredient aimed at promoting hair growth and improving and preventing hair loss. Overseas patents are also underway for pharmaceutical compositions intended for the prevention and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases.
An AP Technology representative stated, “We plan to continue R&D to enable the use of our 2’-FL in various food ingredients and pharmaceuticals,” adding, “We are also devising business strategies considering potential entry into new markets such as patient food and medical food.”
Meanwhile, AP Technology recently received an A grade with a score of 798 from Inno-Biz, a technology innovation certification by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Following this, by joining the Inno-Biz membership, the company can receive support in various areas including financial and tax benefits, government R&D projects, recruitment of specialized personnel, and online export package support programs.

The Inno-Biz certification is expected to assist in establishing optimized product sales strategies for each country and securing new sales channels across various fields. Currently, AP Technology is selling Mamstamin through various global e-commerce platforms and offline stores such as Amazon in the U.S., Tmall in China, and Guardian Drugstore in Singapore, and plans to expand sales channels in the Greater China region and the Middle East.
