Mokpo Coast Guard Intensifies Search for Crew Member Who Fell During Night Fishing off Sinan Coast
Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kim Hae-cheol) announced that they are searching for crew member A (in his 60s), who fell into the sea while working on the deck of a fishing vessel.
On the 1st at around 4:40 a.m., Mokpo Maritime Police received a report that crew member A of fishing vessel B (12 tons, coastal gillnet, registered in Imja, Sinan, Jeollanam-do, with 6 crew members on board) fell into the sea while working on the deck about 18 km northwest off Jaeun Island, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do.
Mokpo Maritime Police dispatched patrol vessels, coastal rescue boats from the local police station, the West Sea Marine Special Rescue Team, and a helicopter to the scene, and are conducting a joint search with naval and civilian forces.
