Gunsan Coast Guard Begins Search After Contact Lost with Seonyudo Haerujil Visitor
At around 11:43 PM on the 31st, a report was received by the Gunsan Coast Guard that a man in his 50s, tourist A, who was clam digging near Seonyudo Beach in Gunsan, was missing, prompting a search operation.
On the 1st, Gunsan Coast Guard is conducting a search for a person missing during clam digging using the Saemangeum Substation coastal rescue boat, and is patrolling extensively with a helicopter.

Upon receiving the report, the Coast Guard conducted a maritime search using the Saemangeum Substation coastal rescue boat, and along with related agencies such as the police and fire department, searched the coastline. However, as of 9 AM on the 1st, A had not been found.
A started clam digging with a group of four at around 8:30 PM after finishing dinner on the 31st. The group noticed around 10 PM that A was missing and had been searching for him on their own.

A Gunsan Coast Guard official stated, "Entering the sea during nighttime low tide can cause a high risk of losing one's sense of direction," and added, "Please refrain from entering mudflats for clam digging or water activities at night."
