Opening of Gangdong-gu Re&Upcycle Plaza
Recruiting Participants for Programs Ahead of Lian Upcycle Plaza's Official Opening on the 20th
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Su-hee) announced that it is recruiting participants for the upcycling program at the ‘Re&Upcycle Plaza’.
The ‘Gangdong-gu Re&Upcycle Plaza’ (960 Dongnam-ro) is a space that not only recycles but also adds design to discarded resources to create new product value. It was established to promote recycling culture and expand the base of the upcycling industry.
Before the official opening of this facility, the district conducted various pilot upcycling education programs, receiving great interest and positive responses from residents. In September this year, new educational content will be added to increase resident participation.
The upcycling education programs to be held in September include making a ‘Doorbell Ornament’ using paper materials, making a ‘Memo Holder’ from scrap paper, creating a ‘My Own Upcycling Notebook’ from waste paper, and making a ‘Melting Poly Keyring’ from discarded plastic bottle caps. These will be conducted as one-day classes over three days on September 13, 18, and 20.
Anyone interested in resource circulation and residing in Gangdong-gu can apply, with 15 participants accepted on a first-come, first-served basis per program. Applications can be made online by accessing the QR code link on the promotional poster or by calling the Cleaning Administration Division of Gangdong-gu Office. Participation is free of charge.
