The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 31st that it will newly introduce the "Technology Development Product Public Institution Demonstration Support Project" to support initial market entry by expanding public procurement of new products produced by SMEs.

This method supports the costs required for product demonstration by connecting SMEs and public institutions. Technology development products are SME products certified by government ministries through evaluation. If selected, support of up to 30 million KRW per product is available, including installation costs, removal costs, and official test report fees required for demonstration. The cost burden ratio is 80% by the government and 20% by participating companies.

The demonstration support project is divided into two types: the "Public Institution Demand Type," which identifies new technology development products by surveying public institution demand, and the "SME Proposal Type," where SMEs propose new product demonstrations to specific public institutions.

So far, public institutions have conducted preliminary demand surveys. For a total of eight products, including the "Intrusion and Fire Detection Technology Development Product through Sound Field Analysis" proposed by Korea South-East Power Co., public institutions are seeking SMEs to participate in the demonstration.

Choi Won-young, Director of Global Growth Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "We expect that the new technology development products that succeed in demonstration through this project will play a significant role in improving public services," and added, "To pioneer market channels for various new products in public institutions, plans are in place to link support for market entry of excellent technology development products with public institution purchasing consultations in the second half of the year."

Applications will be accepted from the 1st of next month until October 4th. Detailed information can be found on the Ministry of SMEs and Startups website.
