Gyeongbuk Office of Education to Provide Childbirth Congratulatory Allowance of 1 Million to 3 Million Won to Contract Teachers Starting Next Year
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) will provide childbirth congratulatory money starting next year and extend the maximum length of service from 20 to 30 years to improve the welfare of contract teachers.
To meet the diverse welfare needs of contract teachers, since 2022, customized welfare expenses have been provided even to those limited to step 14, and this year, the basic welfare points per person have been steadily increased from 600 to 800 points, continuously expanding the welfare for contract teachers.
Starting March 1, 2024, contract teachers with a contract period of one year or more will have their length of service for welfare expense allocation extended from a maximum of 20 years to 30 years, increasing the welfare expense allocation amount by 100,000 KRW.
In particular, contract teachers who have qualifying reasons for payment during the contract period will receive childbirth congratulatory money of 1,000,000 KRW for the first child, 2,000,000 KRW for the second child, and 3,000,000 KRW for the third child, as a measure to improve welfare and boost work motivation.
